Common Image Formats
Here's a quick overview of the formats Tooly can handle:
- JPG/JPEG: Best for photographs. Uses lossy compression (small file size, but some quality loss). Does not support transparency.
- PNG: Great for graphics with transparency or sharp lines (logos, icons). Uses lossless compression (larger file size, no quality loss). Supports transparency.
- WEBP: Modern format developed by Google. Offers both lossy and lossless compression, often with smaller file sizes than JPG or PNG at similar quality. Supports transparency and animation (Tooly only handles static WEBP).
- GIF: Older format, best for simple graphics with limited colors. Uses lossless compression. Supports transparency and animation (Tooly only handles static GIFs).
How to Use Tooly's Image Converter
Upload Image
Click "Choose Image" and select a JPG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF file from your device.
Select Output Format
Choose the format you want to convert the image to (JPG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF).
Adjust Quality (Optional)
If converting to JPG or WEBP, you can adjust the quality slider (higher quality means larger file size).
Click Convert
Press the "Convert Image" button. Tooly will process the image on the server.
Preview & Download
Your converted image will appear in the output area. Click the download button to save it.
A Note on Privacy
To perform the conversion, your image is temporarily uploaded to our server. We process it and then delete the original and converted files automatically shortly after. We do not store your images long-term.
